Little T Autumn Wardrobe

Little T Autumn Wardrobe

These days I get very little creative input in the boys wardrobes. They are seven and five and know what they like.

Theia is another matter, at two shes not quite able to express what exactly she wants but she has a liking for pretty dresses and headbands which suits me perfectly.

Before T my sewing was obviously focused on the boys and more boyish prints I had no idea the huge number of clothes you could get for girls! Not just dresses but pinafores, bloomers, tunics, peplums there is just an endless list of styles for girls. Boys patterns all tend to be some form of trouser and top with a zip jacket or hoody. When I found a love for sewing I also found dungarees, the comfy kind made from soft jersey fabric as apposed to the traditional jeans ones. Oliver lived in Dungarees right up until the point he potty trained.

Theia though, she has so many looks in her wardrobe its amazing. I wish I had the time to work on my own autumn wardrobe the way I do hers.

This autumn I've gravitated towards Teals, Mustards and Pinks. Her corduroy Skirt it one of my absolute favourite items. its in a bright Teal colour with huge pockets and a paper bag skirt. I am so excited for her to wear it but its not quite cooled enough for it just yet. I've made a bunch of long sleeve T shirts for her to wear with the skirt but now I've moved onto her dresses. You can see pictures of the beautiful skirt as part of this blog and a few of the top options I've managed to photograph. The skirt is available in the made to order section of the website in various colours.

Through the summer I stuck to a couple of different dresses and just made them in lots of different prints but for winter I had this Mustard boarder print from Caboodle Textiles id been hoarding for ages (fabric hoarding is an actual thing ask any fabric addict). I couldn't see this fabric as a HazelB, I just couldn't picture it looking right in my head, so I went on a search for new pattern that would suit the dress.

I found Little Lizard King Aspen, and oh my was it perfect! The dress is a baby doll style dress with a really small lined bodice. you can add ruffles to the bottom and/or the sleeves but I chose not to this time. I might do one in the future but id need the right print I think.

I've attached pictures of the dress that I've now added to little T's wardrobe ready for the cooler months and i'll probably add it soon to the made to order section on the website I can see it being really popular.

I've ordered beautiful hair bows (my hair bow obsession is growing) from Blossom & Bo that match the dress beautifully too!
